About the role
As a Plumber II you will perform duties to diagnose, rebuild and install any range of pumping and associated piping systems Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, to specifications and plumbing spec.
Essential functions as a Plumber II:
Studies spec and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors
Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools.
Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine.
Bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand.
Assembles and installs valves, pipefittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic, using hand tools and power tools.
Work from shop orders, manuals, prints and instructions.
Review shop orders to determine requirements. Disassemble pumps and valves, diagnose problems, determine extent of repairs, parts and materials required and rebuild and repair any range of pumps and valves to suit vehicle requirements.
Install new and rebuild existing valves, foam systems, gauges, control lines, hand controls and similar components. Plumb to existing control panel or layout new panels to accommodate controls and systems in any range of company or competitor vehicle, where positioning, mounting and installation procedures differ based vehicle and component configurations and available space.
Test pumps and related systems to check for leaks and proper operation. Make required repairs and adjustments. Able to do a pump performance tests and all foam testing on trucks.
Make any required visual checks of component placement, alignment and security. Complete any required documentation. Monitor the availability of assembly parts and supplies stored in work area and notify supervisor of the need to replenish stock.
Responsible for setting up and checking the work of others, assisting and instructing them and directing and maintaining the flow of their work.
Able to help/assist service and warranty with field problems and willing to go into the field if need be.
Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.
Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
Installs and repairs plumbing as required per build.
May weld holding fixtures to steel structural members.
Performs other work as assigned.
Other duties of a Plumber II maybe include, but are not limited to:
Perform or assist with any operations, as required or directed to maintain work flow or respond to production requirements.
Tools and equipment you'll use as a Plumber II:
power tools, saws, impact wrenches, stud welder, grinders, belt sander, drill press, tape measure templates, and heat gun.
Overhead crane and fabrication equipment such as punch presses. Shears and Press Brakes.

SAFETY: Follow E-ONE General Health & Safety Rules, ensure safe operating conditions within area of responsibility, and notify coworkers and supervisors of hazardous acts and conditions. Proper use of PPE; use only defect-free equipment. Promote safety in department. Use proper lifting techniques and overhead hoist when needed. Maintain clean and safe working environment in line with 5-S Philosophy. Participate in hazardous communication training and safety meetings.
QUALITY: Responsible for the quality of work. This requires defect-free work and understanding of the requirements of the company’s quality system as it pertains to job duties and responsibilities. Must be able to check work to ensure conformance to process control instructions, specifications, and quality standards. Identify and segregate non-conforming product. Identify the need for and assist in initiating and implementing corrective and preventive actions when appropriate.
FLEXIBILITY: Able and willing to work in other areas as needed. Must be flexible in taking lunch and breaks when workflow requires. Willing to work additional hours as necessary.
INITIATIVE: Actively participate in continuous improvement of products and processes to better serve customers and improve the overall profitability of E-ONE. Actively seek out work in other areas when current assignment is complete. Make suggestions for improving product quality, processes, safety, and company profitability.

Minimum Requirements:
High school graduate or General Education Diploma.

Physical requirements:
Lift/Push/Pull- Exerting up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Climbing- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
Stooping- Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Kneeling- Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Crouching/Crawling/Reaching - Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing- Particularly for sustained periods of time.
Walking- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performing mechanical tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as carpenters, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc. The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment
The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
